  15. This file contains important license information regarding the use of 
  16. Coeli - Stella 2000(tm). It applies specifically to individual users who 
  17. may wish to pass copies out to friends or associates. 
  18.  
  19. For site licensing, please contact Swimming Elk Software directly - 
  20. all such requests will be dealt with on an individual basis.

  22. User Groups, Computer Clubs, Disk Vendors and Distributors,
  23. Subscription Services, Disk-of-the-Month Clubs, etc., should
  24. refer to the VENDOR.TXT file for complete information relating to
  25. them.

  28. refer to the SYSOP.TXT file for complete information relating to them.

  32. ~Limited License for Evaluation Purposes.

  34. Swimming Elk Software hereby grants you a limited license to use this
  35. software for evaluation purposes either 
  36.  
  37. a) for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days, or 
  38. b) up to a usage limit of 100 program sessions, 
  39.  
  40. whichever comes sooner. 
  41.  
  42. If you intend using this software (and/or its documentation) 
  43. after the thirty day evaluation period or beyond the usage limit of 
  44. 100 program sessions, you are under a legal obligation to purchase the 
  45. software from Swimming Elk Software.

  47. Using this software beyond the thirty day evaluation period, 
  48. or beyond the stipulated usage limit, without registration (purchase) 
  49. of the software is a violation of the terms of this limited license.

  53. ~Limited Distribution License:

  55. As the copyright holder for Stella 2000(tm), Swimming Elk Software
  56. authorizes distribution by individuals only in accordance with
  57. the following restrictions.

  59.    (User Groups, Computer Clubs, Disk Vendors and Distributors,
  60.    Subscription Services, Disk-of-the-Month Clubs, etc., should
  61.    refer to the VENDOR.TXT file for complete information relating
  62.    to them.)

  64.    (BBS and ftp SYSOPs should refer to the SYSOP.TXT file for complete
  65.    information relating to them.)

  67. Individuals are hereby granted permission by Swimming Elk Software 
  68. to copy the Stella 2000 software package AS ORIGINALLY DISTRIBUTED for 
  69. their own evaluation purposes or for other individuals to evaluate, ONLY 
  70. when the following conditions are met.

  72. The Stella 2000 package is defined as containing all the
  73. material listed in the VENDINFO.DIZ file.  If any files
  74. listed in VENDINFO.DIZ, or VENDINFO.DIZ itself, are missing, 
  75. then the package is not complete and distribution is prohibited.  
  76. Please contact us to obtain a complete package suitable for distribution.

  78.     o  The Stella 2000 package - including all related program
  79.        files and documentation files - CANNOT be modified in any
  80.        way and must be distributed as a complete package, without
  81.        exception.  The VENDINFO.DIZ file contains a list of
  82.        all files that are part of the Coeli package.

  84.     o  No price or other compensation may be charged for the
  85.        Stella 2000 package.  A distribution cost may be
  86.        charged for the cost of the diskette, shipping and
  87.        handling, as long as the total (per disk) does not exceed
  88.        US$8.00 in the U.S. and Canada, US$12.00
  89.        for international distribution from the U.S., or
  90.        6 pounds sterling or its equivalent inside Europe.

  92.     o  The Stella 2000 package CANNOT be sold as part of some
  93.        other inclusive package, nor can it be included in any
  94.        commercial software packaging offer, without prior
  95.        permission from Swimming Elk Software.
  96.  
  97.     o  The PRINTED User's Guide may not be reproduced in whole or
  98.        in part, using any means, without the written permission
  99.        of Swimming Elk Software.  In other words, the disk-based
  100.        documentation may not be distributed in PRINTED (hardcopy)
  101.        form.

  103.     o  The Stella 2000 package cannot be "rented" or "leased"
  104.        to others.
  105.  
  106.     o  Licensee shall not use, copy, rent, lease, sell, modify,
  107.        decompile, disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, or
  108.        transfer the licensed software package except as provided 
  109.        in this agreement. Any such unauthorized use shall result in
  110.        immediate and automatic termination of this license.

  112.     o  Licensee hereby agrees not to post the Stella 2000 software
  113.        package publicly in any ftp directory inappropriate to its
  114.        category.

  116.        Eg. pc/astronomy is an appropriate directory; pc/demo is not.

  120. Distributors are especially asked to avoid the following terms when 
  121. describing the Stella 2000 software package:

  123. free, freeware, free software, nag, nagware, public domain, demo,
  124. demonstration software, or any other term or phrase which admits of an 
  125. interpretation not in keeping with the official product definition given.
  126.  
  127. Non-compliance with this request may invalidate previous license 
  128. permissions granted by Swimming Elk Software to the Licensee.
  129.  
  130. Authorship of the Stella 2000 software package may not be attributed to 
  131. any name but Swimming Elk Software.

  134. PLEASE!  Show your support for Shareware by registering (purchasing)
  135. programs you actually use. Both Swimming Elk Software and the 
  136. very survival of shareware as a distribution channel are
  137. dependant upon your active co-operation and support. Thank you.

  143. Fully and continuously functioning evaluation software package distributed 
  144. via shareware channels, hereafter to be designated as Shareware, Shareware 
  145. package, or Stella 2000 software package.

  147. For definitions and explanations pertaining to matters of copyright and
  148. shareware distribution, we would direct you to the files Shr-ware.txt and
  149. ShareW.txt included as part of the Stella 2000 software package.

  151. The Stella 2000(tm) software package is Copyright (c) 1995, 1996, 1997 
  152. Swimming Elk Software. All rights reserved. Stella 2000 is NOT a 
  153. freeware or public domain program.

  155. This software and accompanying documentation are protected by
  156. United States Copyright law and also by International Treaty
  157. provisions. Any use of this software in violation of Copyright
  158. law or the terms of this limited license will be prosecuted to
  159. the best of our ability. The conditions under which you may copy
  160. this software and documentation are clearly outlined above under
  161. "Limited Distribution License".

  173. installation on a single computer system by one registered individual. 
  174. Distribution of the registered version of Stella 2000 is strictly prohibited.

  183. The attached VENDINFO data record is hereby incorporated by reference.  
  184. Any distribution satisfying all the distribution requirements expressed 
  185. in that data record is hereby authorized.

  187. If the Licensee satisfies Swimming Elk Software's conditions for 
  188. distributing the Coeli package, Swimming Elk Software authorizes the 
  189. Licensee's use of its unaltered product-descriptive texts without further 
  190. permission.

  192. All licenses to distribute the Stella 2000 package are solely between the producer
  193. (Swimming Elk Software) and distributor (Licensee), and do not involve 
  194. VENDINFO or Rams' Island Software.
